Quality casebound books on our state-of-the-art binding lines

Here at Cambridge, we have a versatile, extensive plant, which enables us to print economically on the widest range of papers in all book formats.
Lightweight paper printing
In 2003 we made substantial investment in the UK’s first two Akiyama J Print machines, and in so doing have pioneered lightweight, waterless, sheet-fed production on large-format machines (with a maximum sheet size of 820x1120mm). So far, our new presses have surpassed expectations. These machines run at higher speed than the old eight-colour press, offer better quality, and are able to print from 1/1 up to 4/4 on a range of papers, from as low as 25gsm.

Optimum climate conditions are maintained with a humidification system that ensures paper characteristics are retained in the manufacturing process. This is of particular importance when printing waterless, and when folding on lightweight papers. Uniquely configured MBO K800 folders are used to fold this lightweight paper.
“We are the only printer in the world able to produce such high quality, sheet-fed, on stocks as low as these.”
Lithographic book printing
In addition, three Speedmaster 102 ZP presses produce monochrome and two-colour sheets, including text, integrated illustrations and dedicated plate sections, to the highest quality, on a complete range of papers.

Covers, jackets and printed paper cases
Our covers, jackets and printed paper cases are all printed on two Speedmaster 74 FPLX presses, supported by full lamination facilities.

“We offer our customers a lower cost solution on larger format sizes.”
