Lean manufacturing
Among leading industry commentators, we,
at Cambridge Printing, are now recognised as being on the leading
edge of business efficiency. In 1999, a far-reaching benchmarking
programme was undertaken here, and an Overall Equipment Effectiveness
measurement technique subsequently introduced.
This technique provides feedback on the efficiency
of each piece of equipment and the individual operator. We also
measure the percentage of deliveries made on time, and our waste/spoilage
ratios. On all three of these scores, our ratings are considered
exceptionally high.
